Pannekoeken

Not just hope, also recipes…

Pannekoeken, not pancakes, not crepes, pannekoeken. They have the size of your biggest frying pan and the thickness of 2 crepes.

Not sure if I want to give you a recipe, but I will say that you need flour, eggs, milk, butter and salt, also make sure today is a Saturday. I guess you can figure out the rest by yourself. You mix these ingredients and then you heat up butter in a pan, pour the batter in, one scoop per pancake, just cover the whole pan with a nice layer of batter.

When the batter dries up on top of the pannekoek, it’s time to turn it around with a tool, or by throwing it in the air, making it do a salto. Let it sit there for another minute and remove from pan. Make sure your pan is always buttery before scooping in the new batter.

To make sure you enjoy making these delicious round floppy things, play the right music for your mood. Don’t try to change your mood with the music, embrace your feels. Are you happy? Play Dire Straits. Are you melancholic? Play Leonard or Johnny. Drink milk. Open a window. Invite strangers in.

Now, this is where it gets interesting. To give you a recipe is the easy part. I want to give you an adventure! Decide where you will go after you carbed-up, eating the floppy things. Since your today is Saturday, the rest of the day is yours. I mean, if you’re making pannekoeken on a Saturday morning, I guess you slept at least till 10, then got up with a craving and the time to fulfill your need.

So, decide! Where will today lead you?
-Will you go to the forest and collect the leaves and fruits of at least 5 trees?
-Will you go into town and ring a random doorbell to introduce yourself as the town-greeter?
-Will you find a tree and climb it?
-Will you go shopping but only buy things for friends?

So yeah, pannekoeken, try it, it’s great!
