Sparrows

The mission was clear
The outcome became obvious
The hopes were met
The circumstances favourable

He put on his little helmet
But then took it off again

If he was to be the favourite
He should only have trust to gain

Brave like an eagle
Firm like a king
Gentle like a lady
Dancing in the spring

One step, two step, jump
And then nothing for a while

With eyes closed, but wide open heart
He kept falling deeper, with nowhere to hide
No cloud against sunlight
No branch to hold tight

One hope, two hope, trust
And his Friend by his side

One eye open, quiver inside
Second one followed bright bright wide
A little confusion
And then singing loud

One copper coin
The price of our lives
Never even came close to the ground
The Father just held me, way up in the skies

But it would have been the same
If I had crashed both my wings
He’d still know the number
Of my feathery things
