For J
{Husband speaks}
[Minoushka speaks]
Them beasts are eating all our food
Said husband in a sober mood
We bought them only yesteryear
To fill our stores with bread and beer
Minoushka laughed and shook her head
Oh husband, that’s just what I said
The circus travels all year long
From town to town, it keeps them strong
And then you came with your idea
Of showing tigers always here
’t is true the people paid your show
But once they saw them, they would go
’t is not the tigers they won’t see
They fail to come because you reek
Said husband to his wife indeed
It’s all because your stinking feet
No farmer pays to see them twice
Unless you let them juggle mice
Since you don’t seem to have a clue
Here’s what I think we should do
We’ll save some money for ourselves
These tigers empty out our shelves
We skip the feeding twice a week
And stop this ever-losing streak
Minoushka spoke and pa obeyed
His darling made him more afraid
Cause tigers growl but in a cage
But who would risk his woman’s rage
When three months passed and cupboards full
Minoushka played a different role
Oh husband please just let them go
We hardly do a show no mo
With deep regret and tears of pain
The husband did what wife explained
With trembling hands, the key he used
To free them beasts, no more abused
As freedom came within their sight
The tigers longed for one delight
They left their master still unharmed
And ran straight past him towards the farm
Minoushka sat there sheering sheep
Unknowing of her husbands deed
A look up to the sound of speed
And all that’s left were wifey’s feet
